Historic Scotland, jointly with Scottish Natural Heritage has an inventory of gardens and designed landscapes of special interest, which is currently being extended.
Designed gardens and landscapes are an integral part of the character of many of our towns and cities. They function as a break between urban development, provide setting for buildings, bring nature into the city centre and can support recreation. The spaces between buildings and the way in which they are defined and designed make a major contribution to the character of Aberdeen. In time it is likely that some of Aberdeen’s fine Victorian parks will be added to the Inventory. Historic Scotland holds an inventory of Gardens and Designed Landscapes. To visit it click here |
