DOORS OPEN DAY 2010 PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITION
If you are aged 6-14 and have a camera, why not take a picture of the outside of the main door of a property in Doors Open Day 2010 and submit one digital picture only to dod@aberdeenheritage.org.uk with your name, age, class and school. Doors Open Day (Aberdeen) 2010 Photographic Competition: Rules 1) The theme of the competition is “outside doors” 2) Photographs entered must be taken of the main outside door of a property that is on the programme of Doors Open Day Aberdeen 2010 and must be taken 10.00am- 4.00pm on Saturday 11 September 2010. 3) Entrants can submit one photo in JPEG format. Prints, CD’s/ DVD’s can not be accepted. 4) Doors Open Day (Aberdeen) reserves the right to exclude any image they believe may have been excessively treated or manipulated. 5) Each entry should be attached to an e-mail with name, age and school in the Subject Box and say which building has been photographed. We recommend that an adult submits this e-mail on behalf of the child. An acknowledgement e-mail will be sent. Aberdeen City Heritage Trust is registered on the Data Protection Register Reg: Z8944898. Information submitted will be used solely for the purpose of judging photographs and for notifying the winner(s) via their school. 6) The competition closes at midnight on Sunday 12th September 2010. 7) The Aberdeen City Heritage Trust and the Doors Open Day (Aberdeen) Committee cannot accept any responsibility for any problem with the e-mail service which may result in any entry being lost or delayed. 8) Unsuccessful entrants will not be contacted and no feedback on any entry will be provided. 9) All photographs will be judged by the Doors Open Day (Aberdeen) Committee on the following criteria: Composition, Interpretation of the theme and publishable quality of the image. 10) The decision of the Doors Open Day (Aberdeen) Committee shall be final. The competition winner will be notified via their school. 11) The prize is for the winners entry to be used on the front cover of the Doors Open Day (Aberdeen) 2011 brochure and poster. In the event that no one picture is of a good enough standard the Doors Open Day Committee may, at its discretion, not use any entry or use more than picture. 12) The entry must be taken by the entrant and must not infringe the rights of any other party. The entry should not include any people. The entrant must be the sole owner of copyright of the picture entered. Entrants must not have breached any laws or in any way put themselves at risk of accident or injury when taking photographs. 13) Entrants will retain copyright in the photographs that they submit for this competition. By entering the competition, all entrants grant to the Doors Open Day (Aberdeen) Committee and Aberdeen City Heritage Trust the right to publish and exhibit their photographs on publicity material relating to Doors Open Day (Aberdeen) and on the Trust’s website. We will make every effort to credit photographers, including in printed reproductions of their work. 14) By entering, entrants will be deemed to have agreed to be bound by these rules and the Doors Open Day (Aberdeen) Committee reserves the right to exclude any entry from the competition at any time and in its absolute discretion if it has reason to believe that an entrant has breached these rules. 15) The Doors Open Day (Aberdeen) Committee reserves the right to cancel this competition or alter any of the rules at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion, and if circumstances arise outside of its control. 16) If the winner is unable to be contacted via their school after reasonable attempts have been made, the Doors Open Day (Aberdeen) Committee reserves the right to offer the prize to a runner-up.
