Aberdeen City Heritage Trust can help care for the historic environment by offering grants for the repair or restoration of both listed buildings and buildings in conservation areas.
Additionally grants may be available for carrying out tree management works where a tree is recognised by designation to contribute to amenity.
There is no automatic entitlement to a grant because a property is a listed building or falls in a conservation area or is a protected tree; even if this means the owner has to carry out work in a particular way to obtain statutory permissions.
Other sources for funding of historic building repair in Aberdeen are Historic Scotland and the Heritage Lottery Fund.
A separate grant scheme called the Green Townscape Heritage Initiative or THI is currently operating in the centre of Aberdeen. For further details click here
