Every second weekend in September, the doors of variety of Aberdeen’s wealth of historic buildings are thrown open to allow the public the opportunity to see the inside of places they would not be allowed to, or would not normally dare go!

Doors Open Days aim to encourage all of us to enjoy and understand our local architectural environment and develop a better awareness of Scotland's rich built heritage and conservation issues.

Aberdeen’s first Doors Open Day took place on 10 September 1994 when 20 buildings were opened up to the public. The popularity of the first year guaranteed the event would continue and it celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2004.

Aberdeen City Heritage Trust supported Doors Open Day (Aberdeen) in 2005 and 2006, and is the sole sponsor of the event again in 2007.

Put a date in your diary for this year's event on 8 September 2007 and explore some of Aberdeen's Architectural treasures. For further details about Doors Open day contact Paul Pillath on 01224 522228 Email paulp@aberdeencity.gov.uk
